Job Title: Sr. Network Engineer - Palo Alto / BGP
Work Location: 100% Remote in the US
Travel: 15-20% of the time

ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE
Medix is currently seeking an experienced Network Engineer for an opportunity with one of our national Healthcare Services clients. This individual will be joining a team focused on enterprise Network Migrations onto new Next Generation equipment - including Palo Alto / Panorama Next Generation Firewalls, Dynamic WAN routing, and SD-WAN.
We are seeking individuals who have a minimum of 7 years working experience, and who have hands-on implementation, configuration and support for Palo Alto products, with secondary expertise in BGP Routing..
RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role is primarily remote but may include up to 15% travel out of state / overnight to client locations
- Working remotely to lead and support network migration projects and enterprise operations across the organization.
- Day to day will primarily be focused on network configuration and deployment (80%) for Palo Alto NGFW / Panorama.
- Core responsibilities will be to configure the Palo Alto firewalls and VPNs
- For legacy sites still on static routing, a big initiative will be to convert these locations over to Dynamic WAN / BGP.
- This individual will be tasked with understanding architecture designs, ordering equipment, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely delivery for installation.
- Strong Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN and firewall skills are required - must be able to troubleshoot, program, and set up firewalls, including setting up VPNs, and migrate existing firewall rules over to the new devices.
- This role is an Engineer-level, but will be called on to support lower-level areas such as hardware replacements, patching and cabling, as needed
- This role will also be providing technical troubleshooting and support for connectivity issues within the AWS and Azure multi-cloud environment
- This individual is responsible for using monitoring tools (ie, Solarwinds) for monitoring and assessing network performance, as well as ticketing tools (ServiceNow) to stay on top of issues.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 7-10+ years of professional experience
- Network Certifications (Cisco CCNP/DevNet Certification, or PCNSE) are preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with PaloAlto Next Generation Firewalls
- Expertise with BGP Routing
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies highly preferred
- AWS or Azure Cloud experience preferred
