Apex Systems is seeking multiple Sr. Planning Engineers to join our esteemed client in the telecommunications industry. This role is fully remote.

The Role
This is a strategic network planning position responsible for managing voice and data network elements, monitoring capacity utilization, and forecasting bandwidth growth. The role involves submitting capacity triggers, developing augmentation plans, and ensuring efficient and scalable network expansion.
Main Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Technical experience with Cisco, Juniper, and/or Nokia switch and router platforms. Strong data trending and analysis skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proven success as a project manager. Strong collaboration and communication skills across departments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint. Positive, professional demeanor with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

The Role
This is a strategic network planning position responsible for managing voice and data network elements, monitoring capacity utilization, and forecasting bandwidth growth. The role involves submitting capacity triggers, developing augmentation plans, and ensuring efficient and scalable network expansion.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and define strategic network plans for new deployments and augmentations of switches and routers.
- Prepare high-level plans and specifications, including project scope, switch/router requirements, power, and space needs.
- Analyze trending reports to identify areas requiring network expansion, hardware upgrades, or bandwidth optimization.
- Ensure the use of practical, economical, and feasible methods for project execution.
- Provide cost data to support capital planning and budgeting.
- Monitor and control project expenditures.
- Apply expertise in strategic planning, project management, and engineering.
- Analyze Layer 3 IP and Layer 2 Ethernet network systems, including planning, design, and architectural integration.
- Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering teams to resolve interoperability challenges and align with strategic network plans.
- Operate independently with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional telecommunications experience and a bachelor's degree or higher.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality output.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask across multiple projects effectively.
- Solid academic and technical understanding of LAN/WAN internetworking technologies and protocols, including:
- TCP/IP, Ethernet, ISIS, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPLS, QoS, L2VPN, L3VPN, multicast, IPv4/IPv6.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in an engineering role with a strong business or financial focus.
- Knowledge in computer science, including data analytics, predictive analysis, automation development, and reporting.
