Job Description
Senior Data Analyst / BI professional to support reporting, analytics, and data warehouse initiatives following a recent tax accounting system migration. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role requiring strong technical expertise as well as the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will refine and validate enterprise data definitions, develop and maintain reports, and support application migration efforts. This role will also function as a Business Analyst when needed, bridging gaps between business requirements and technical implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead refinement, validation, and ongoing documentation of the enterprise data dictionary
Work directly with business SMEs to elicit, clarify, and confirm data definitions, calculations, and business rules
Act as a Business Analyst when needed to bridge business and technical teams
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and the IT Project Manager to ensure consistent data understanding
Design, develop, and maintain reports using Power BI and SSRS
Support conversion and redevelopment of reports impacted by application migrations
Develop complex SQL Server queries, functions, and stored procedures
Support data warehouse development and optimization, including indexing strategies
Analyze system tables to evaluate performance and data behavior
Translate business logic into clear technical specifications for reporting and analytics
Identify data quality issues and collaborate with technical teams on resolution
Document data lineage, transformations, and report logic
Communicate status, risks, and data-related issues to the IT Project Manager
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
Strong experience as a Senior Data Analyst / BI Analyst
Advanced SQL Server expertise (complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning)
Hands-on experience with Power BI and SSRS
Data warehouse concepts and optimization techniques
Strong data analysis, documentation, and data validation skills
Experience working directly with business stakeholders and SMEs
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
