- Hourly Range: $23.11 - $32.16 (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. A 15% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City or San Francisco, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.)

Overview:Bechtel's internship program was created to cultivate real-life industry interest based on hands-on experience. Many new university graduate hires began their careers at Bechtel as a summer intern. Locations will vary based on project needs and may include Houston, TX, Reston, VA, or various project sites.
Major Responsibilities:Mechanical Engineering interns work in multi-disciplinary teams and provide support to the most visible aspects of a project - plant equipment.
Mechanical Engineering interns may be responsible for:
- Selecting and specifying equipment.
- Preparing flow or detailed system piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Performing system and equipment sizing calculations.
- Establishing facility design requirements and develop the system safety basis.
- Reviewing supplier designs.
- Preparing ventilation and instrumentation diagrams.
- Performing corrosion and erosion evaluations for systems and equipment.
Education and Experience Requirements:- Students must be in the final stages of graduation.
- Bachelor of Science degree program in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited college or
- university
- Students should qualify to undergo the training as part of the university curriculum
- Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of (2.5 out of 4) or (4 out of 5)
- Excellent skills in oral and written communication
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
