Position: COBOL / JCL Consultant (Liber COBOL & Linux)
Location: Remote
Duration: 12+ months contract
Job Description:
We are looking for a COBOL / JCL Consultant with strong expertise in Liber COBOL and related batch processing on Linux environments. The consultant will help set up, review, and optimize processes to ensure smooth execution of COBOL programs and jobs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and manage Liber COBOL and Liber JCL processes on Linux.
- Build and maintain batch processing files to run COBOL executables.
- Review and troubleshoot existing jobs, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
- Work with GNU-COBOL (underlying engine for LiberCobol) for debugging and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to migrate, optimize, and support COBOL-based systems.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a COBOL / JCL Consultant in Linux environments.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Liber COBOL and Liber JCL.
- Experience with GNU-COBOL or equivalent COBOL compilers.
- Ability to design, review, and maintain complex batch processing systems.
- Broader COBOL and JCL expertise beyond Liber platform is a strong plus.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
