API Testing

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled API Test Engineer with experience in manual and automation testing of RESTful and SOAP APIs. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test cases, validating API functionality, and ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of backend services. You will work closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to implement robust testing strategies, including monitoring and analyzing logs using Splunk and Grafana, and leveraging NoSQL databases where required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform manual and automation API testing for REST and SOAP services.

• Validate API responses, payloads, headers, error codes, and data formats.

• Create and maintain automated API test scripts using RestAssured, Selenium, or similar frameworks.

• Execute functional, regression, integration, and performance tests.

• Monitor, debug, and analyze application logs using Splunk and Grafana dashboards.

• Work with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.) for data validation and testing.

• Collaborate with developers to understand API endpoints, workflows, and service integrations.

• Implement CI/CD automation of API tests using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, results, and defect reports.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in API Testing (REST/SOAP, JSON, XML, HTTP methods).

• Hands-on manual testing and automation testing experience using RestAssured, Selenium, or similar frameworks.

• Experience with Splunk and Grafana for monitoring, logging, and dashboards.

• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.).

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of microservices testing.

• Exposure to API performance testing using JMeter or Gatling.

• Familiarity with OAuth2.0, JWT, and API security testing.

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
