Systems Administrator (Investment Technology Environments)
Location: Hybrid - Boston, MA (3 days onsite)
Contract: 12-Month W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $58-$65/hour (DOE)

Role Overview
We are supporting a global investment and financial services organization seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support and manage complex, enterprise-scale technical environments used across investment management and OCIO platforms.
This role goes beyond traditional system administration and sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, environment management, and operations. The Systems Administrator will play a key role in ensuring environments are stable, scalable, secure, and ready to support new technology implementations, platform upgrades, and global operating models.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in enterprise systems administration, strong cloud exposure (AWS and Azure), and experience supporting regulated financial or investment technology environments.
Key Responsibilities
Systems & Environment Administration
- Administer and support multiple enterprise environments including development, testing, staging, production, and disaster recovery.
- Ensure systems are highly available, secure, scalable, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Manage environment readiness for releases, upgrades, patches, and new technology deployments.
- Troubleshoot complex system and environment issues across applications and infrastructure layers.
Cloud & DevOps Support
- Support and maintain systems across AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- Partner with DevOps and engineering teams on CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure improvements.
- Assist with environment provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring.
- Support systems tied to data lakes, reporting platforms, and investment applications.
Operations & Platform Support
- Support a global investment technology program, helping scale environments as business needs grow.
- Partner with operations teams to ensure systems can support business growth and increased demand.
- Provide systems support for cross-functional reporting tools and data platforms.
Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with internal IT teams, engineering groups, and third-party vendors to resolve system issues and coordinate upgrades.
- Support vendor-led upgrades, patches, and environment changes to minimize disruption.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding system status and risks.
Security, Risk & Documentation
- Ensure systems align with security, data privacy, and operational risk requirements.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams on vulnerability management and incident response.
- Maintain accurate system documentation, environment standards, and operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Systems Administration or Technical Environment Management within enterprise IT environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience supporting DevOps tools, CI/CD workflows, and automated deployments.
- Background in financial services, investment management, OCIO, or consulting environments.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, testing cycles, and release management.
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple environments and priorities in a fast-paced, regulated setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps-driven environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL or service management frameworks.
- Experience supporting data platforms, data lakes, or enterprise reporting tools.
- Prior exposure to investment consulting or OCIO technology platforms.
