Position Overview
The Client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support a multi-year, high-priority initiative for the Michigan Department of Treasury.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-vendor environment supporting a hybrid workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Utilize the State of Michigan's Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool, Clarity, to develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource assignments.
- Monitor, control, and report on project performance related to scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, and risk.
- Ensure adherence to the SUITE Project Management Methodology (PMM) and System Engineering Methodology (SEM) throughout the project lifecycle.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise presentations and status updates for audiences ranging from project teams to executive leadership.
- Provide timely, accurate, and transparent communication to project sponsors, program managers, DTMB leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaboration and consensus between business and technical teams to ensure alignment and commitment.
Governance & Compliance
- Develop, maintain, and manage key project artifacts, including:
- Project Charter
- Project Schedule and Budget
- Communication Plan
- Status Reports
- Risk and Issue Logs
- Change Requests
- Project Closeout Summary
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in formal IT project management
- Strong knowledge of project governance, change management, and risk management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage projects in fast-paced, multi-vendor environments
- Experience working with executive-level stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment
