Many large companies across industries store their sensitive data in Oracle Database. Oracle Database offers a defense-in-depth strategy with a suite of best-in-class, integrated security features for securing your data. Oracle Data Safe is a OCI cloud service offering database security posture management for all your Oracle Databases, on-premises or in the cloud. Assess security, detect configuration and user drift, find and mask sensitive data, and collect audit data for analysis, alerting, and reporting. With the newly in-database SQL Firewall policy management, it provides intelligence to detect malicious activities and SQL injection attack. You will be joining a team of security dedicated professionals building a state-of-the-art security cloud solution to secure the sensitive data in mission critical databases. We will apply GenAI technologies to solve challenging security problems.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team responsible for the architecture, design, and development of new database security services.
- Direct the development and enhancement of:
- Data Safe Auditing: Drive a highly scalable platform to capture database activities through auditing, generate alerts and reports for compliance.
- Data Safe SQL Firewall: Drive the management of a next-generation database security feature for native monitoring and control of database activities.
- Establish technical vision and guide the execution of database activity monitoring, anomaly detection, event processing, and data lifecycle management projects.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, quality assurance, support, and integration to deliver seamless and secure solutions.
- Recommend, justify, and implement significant changes to architecture, feature sets, and development processes to improve product quality and maintainability.
- Own the delivery and sustainment of key platform components and modules; ensure high reliability, scalability, and security.
- Actively participate in requirements definition, architecture, code and design reviews; provide expert technical guidance to engineers and testers.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of system or application software development experience.
- 3+ years of proven leadership in engineering management, preferably in enterprise security or data systems.
- Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring teams to deliver complex software products from concept to production.
- Deep expertise in database, security technologies, and complex system software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; hands-on technical abilities.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with developing RDBMS or other large-scale, mission-critical system software or database applications.
- Track record in delivering SaaS or web-based security services on cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, etc.).
- Proficiency in Java and cloud service development
- Expertise in architecting and implementing scalable, robust, and secure cloud solutions.
- Knowledge of regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements in data security.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and stakeholders.

ResponsibilitiesAs a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
