Overview

We are seeking a senior-level IT Project Manager to lead and stabilize a portfolio of in-flight technology projects following a major system migration. This role is responsible for bringing structure, predictability, and delivery discipline to complex initiatives that are already underway. The ideal candidate has demonstrated success taking over active or distressed projects and driving execution with minimal ramp-up time.

The Senior IT Project Manager will manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and provide clear, concise reporting to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational management of multiple active IT projects already in progress

• Report directly to senior IT leadership and align project execution with organizational priorities

• Manage initiatives related to application migration, system modernization, data warehouse updates, and reporting remediation

• Break existing workstreams into clear milestones, deliverables, and dependencies

• Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans and schedules

• Coordinate efforts across business analysts, developers, subject matter experts, vendors, and consultants

• Mentor business analysts and junior team members on documentation standards and project discipline

• Facilitate project meetings and working sessions using collaboration tools

• Schedule, organize, and manage meetings and communications

• Provide accurate, concise status reporting to executive stakeholders

• Proactively identify risks, issues, dependencies, and decision points

• Drive timely issue resolution and escalate when appropriate

• Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and suitable for audit or compliance review

• Reinforce consistent project management practices across the project portfolio

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• PMP certification or equivalent project management credential

• Extensive hands-on IT project management experience

• Proven experience taking over active, complex, or distressed projects

• Demonstrated ability to drive immediate execution and delivery

• Experience managing multiple concurrent technology projects

• Strong delivery-focused project management background

• Senior-level judgment and decision-making capability

• High level of organization and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience with application migrations or system modernization efforts

• Experience with data warehouse, analytics, or reporting projects

• Experience mentoring business analysts, junior PMs, or project team members

• Experience working in public sector, regulated, or highly visible environments

• Advanced proficiency with collaboration and scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Outlook)
