Summary

Job Title: Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Location: San Leandro, CA

Pay Rate: $60/hr on W2

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong development background to lead reliability initiatives and ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of critical systems. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain highly reliable and scalable systems.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate reliability best practices into the software development lifecycle.
Automate operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventive measures.
Lead incident response and root cause analysis for production issues.
Drive continuous improvement in system reliability, availability, and performance.
Support release activities after business hours to ensure smooth deployments and minimal downtime.

Required Qualifications

Min 15+ years of experience
Strong development background in java with hands-on Spring Boot Microservice & Spring Web application development using JDK17+
Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps roles.
Expertise in cloud platforms OCP and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and any AI tools
Must have Strong in MongoDB design/queries and Kafka messaging service
Familiarity and hands-on Oracle DB
Familiarity with BDD development
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
Very good team player and effective communicator
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
Prior experience in leading SRE teams or mentoring engineers.

Work Conditions

Location: Onsite at San Leandro, CA.
Availability: Must be flexible to support releases and critical activities after business hours.
