QA Tester

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements to develop test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases
• Perform functional, integration, and regression testing for Java applications on distributed platforms
• Execute test cycles, validate outputs, analyze results, and ensure program changes meet documented requirements
• Perform database testing and data validation using DB2 and PostgreSQL queries
• Identify, document, track, and manage defects using Jira
• Prepare and maintain program-level and user-level documentation throughout the SDLC
• Coordinate testing activities and provide clear guidance to project teams to meet tight deadlines

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience testing Java-based applications
• Proven hands-on experience with DB2 and PostgreSQL
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including:
  • Test case creation
  • Test execution
  • Integration testing
  • Deployment validation
• Experience troubleshooting, testing, and debugging applications to ensure quality outcomes
• Strong analytical skills for:
  • Data validation
  • Error identification
  • Data analysis and summary reporting
• Experience creating clear and comprehensive technical and user documentation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including obtaining user sign-off prior to production releases
• Ability to follow organizational standards for:
  • Source code check-in/check-out
  • Migration and release processes
