Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-SM2

Major Responsibilities:

• On a medium to large (PFE Tier I - <$250m) job, performs the duties of a lead engineer in either an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or as a Project Field Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the operation of assigned operating section.

Leadership/Supervision

• Proactively engages with their teams' development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback
• Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.

Work Planning & Packaging

• Coordinates with design on constructability issues.

Material Management

• Reviews material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.

Quantities

• Possesses responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.

Safety / Quality Control

• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.

System Turnover Coordinator

For Direct Hire

• Possesses responsibility for coordinating between Construction and Startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the Startup Specialist as required to support component/system turnover and assuming responsibility (as required) for area turnover coordination as determined by the PFE.

STR / Subcontract Coordinator

• Reviews and approves inspection test plans,
• Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Owns technical execution of electrical scope-expert knowledge of power distribution, grounding, raceway, cable, terminations, protection, testing, and energization; ensures code and spec compliance.
• Leads the electrical field engineering team-assigns scope, sets technical standards, reviews work products, and develops field engineers to consistent quality and pace.
• Drives electrical readiness and AWP-ensures IFC drawings, materials, access, test packages, and permits are ready to support IWPs and superintendent plans.
• Controls quality, progress, and turnover-validates quantities, supports progress measurement, drives resolution of NCRs, and enables clean system turnover to commissioning.
• Primary technical interface for electrical-coordinates with engineering, procurement, construction, safety, and commissioning; escalates systemic risks early and clearly.
