Program Manager

The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating a portfolio of IT projects to ensure alignment with business objectives, technology strategy, and organizational priorities. This role manages multiple interrelated projects and other initiatives, ensuring successful delivery of scope, schedule, budget, and quality while driving cross-functional collaboration and risk management. This role oversees complex, large projects such as core modernization, digital transformation, data analytics, as well as Infrastructure initiatives for multi-million dollar internally developed and third-party application initiatives. This role is expected to perform such activities as project estimating, planning, implementation, and post-implementation support. This is a senior level role expected to serve as a backup for the Director of Corporate PMO.

Responsibilities:

• Direct multiple related projects across banking, lending, payments, risk, and compliance domains.
• Project planning, estimating, prioritizing, directing work to multiple teams and project tracking.
• Align technology programs with corporate strategy, digital initiatives, and customer experience goals.
• Define KPIs and success metrics to measure program performance and business value.
• Establish and support IT governance frameworks and promote standardized project management methodologies.

Expectations:

• Provide guidance on project delivery, which will require the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and implement resolutions.
• Participate with project teams in implementation and post-production support of applications.
• Translate business objectives into a clear program roadmap.
• Identify opportunities, constraints, and impacts across the broader portfolio.
• Define program scope, success metrics, milestones, and governance structure.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Specialized level of competency with a minimum of 10 years of project management and program management experience managing cross-functional initiatives in both Agile and traditional project management methodologies.
• Experience in coordinating personnel resources from various organizations toward common business goals/standard processes.
• Experience managing, mentoring, and coaching small teams.
• 5+ years of leadership experience executing projects as Scrum Master or an equivalent role preferred.
• 5+ years of Program Management experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working in Project Management Office (PMO) operations, governance, and portfolio management preferred.
• 2+ years of Business or System Analyst experience preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge and/or certifications preferred.
• Experience with implementing financial systems preferred.
• Prefer experience with Microsoft technologies and project portfolio management (PPM) tools.
• Prefer candidates with working knowledge of technical areas spanning application development, infrastructure, and/or security.

Education:

29. A relevant bachelor's degree in engineering/science/business or a related field.
30. PMP Certification (Certified Project Management Professional) is required.
31. SAFe or CSM Scrum Certification or equivalent agile certification preferred.
