REGULATORY COMPLIANCE ANALYST
Summary
The Regulatory Compliance Analyst ensures compliance with the NERC CIP and O&P, and WECC standards while developing and maintaining compliance program processes across the entire Power Generation fleet. Responsible for conducting assessments, developing and implementing compliance strategies, and maintaining various forms of evidence to support ongoing compliance efforts, internal compliance reviews, as well as regional and federal audits. Expertise in NERC CIP requirements, strong technical knowledge and experience in Operational Technology (OT) and power generation environments, as well as the ability to analyze complex technical and operational systems will be crucial in this role.
What You ll Do
Participate as a NERC CIP, O&P and WECC compliance standards liaison between our Power Generation responsible entities and its internal Electric Reliability Compliance department.
Develop, implement, monitor, manage and continuously improve the organization s North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and WECC compliance program for the Power Generation fleet.
Execute specific tasks, prepare or review evidence showing compliance with NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Reliability Standards, NERC Operations and Planning (O&P) and WECC Reliability standards.
Coordinate compliance activities, and provide guidance to various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) regarding implications of their activities on compliance.
Implement systematic continuous improvements of compliance policies, processes, procedures, training materials, and inventories.
Investigate, develop, implement and maintain automation and technologies that continuously improve the efficiency and accuracy of compliance evidence and processes.
Maintain knowledge of current and future regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the existing compliance program and determine integration timing and tasks.
Assist in the development and maintenance of relevant training materials for the compliance program and provide training and direction to various technical and non-technical personnel.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with local industry, regional entities and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and maintain and develop trust with regulatory bodies and officials.
Participate in NERC Standards Development Processes, as necessary, to ensure the organization s interests are addressed when existing standards are revised, or new standards are proposed.
Perform change management, incident reporting and response planning.
Work closely with a highly technical group of operational technology (OT) professionals to integrate compliance into the technical design, implementation and maintenance of development of OT infrastructure systems in generation plant control systems and networks.
What It Takes To Succeed
Strong understanding of NERC CIP and O&P standards; WECC experience preferred
Electric Utility experience subject to NERC Standards
Information Technology (IT), Cyber Security or comparable experience with emphasis on technical and security domains
Must be team-oriented and collaborative while being a conscientious, goal driven, self-starting professional who has mastered critical thinking and is highly detail oriented.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio
Effectively communicate complex concepts and requirements both verbally and with technical writing skills
Can successfully manage multiple priorities with various deadlines and recipients
Take ownership of compliance program work at a remote NERC CIP medium rated primary generation facility, and can collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously meet cadence driven and time-sensitive compliance requirements, goals and objectives.
Must have a valid driver s license and must be willing and able to travel to all generation facilities within the organization s fleet multiple times a week.
Must have the ability to direct work with outside vendors to achieve successful outcomes for diverse technical and compliance related engagements
Experience
Preference will be given to applicants with generation and/or transmission engineering, operations or planning experience
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in NERC Standards and compliance programs
