Job#: 3018820 Job Description: We are seeking a skilled engineering professional to support the design, analysis, and review of grounding and lightning protection systems across our transmission and distribution network. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality technical studies, ensuring system reliability, and communicating results to leadership and stakeholders.
What You'll Do- Develop comprehensive substation grounding designs and lightning protection studies.
- Perform detailed analysis and prepare technical reports on grounding, direct stroke shielding, and overhead ground wire sizing.
- Provide Quality Assurance reviews, technical training, and developmental feedback to internal designers and engineers.
- Support and manage Substation General Physical Standards drawings and details.
- Create and refine standards, processes, and design criteria for the Substation group.
- Offer technical guidance on grounding materials to less experienced engineers and designers.
- Conduct ground grid integrity testing and investigate lightning-related events.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on substation grounding projects.
- Support Substation Construction, Field Services, Project Management, Substation Maintenance, Transmission Planning, and Protection & Control teams.
- Work with manufacturers, vendors, and internal committees to resolve equipment and material issues.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritize work, and maintain strong organizational discipline to meet project goals.
QualificationsCandidates must meet
one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology OR
- Associate degree in a technical field and at least 10 years of relevant experience
