DescriptionOur client located in Greenville, NC provides trauma, rehabilitation, and outpatient health services to more than 1.4M people in 70 locations across 29 counties. In an average year, about 80,000 inpatient, 460,000 outpatient and 3,000 newborn visits are treated here. The clinical staff includes more than 500 physicians and 1,200 nurses.
The IT Infrastructure Engineer IV (Azure Architect) will be responsible for setting up and managing the Azure tenant and development environment for a new generative AI project at this provider. They will join a team of 6 engineers currently and work cross functionally with multiple teams withinthis provider's environment. This Architect will be supporting the Azure environment creating Azure landing zones, design, construction of DevOps pipelines. This role is very DevOps based but very design focused. They will participate at a high level with governance and work cross functionally with multiple security teams. They will be involved and lead meetings with C-Level executives and provide updates and progress reports on how the cloud migration is progressing. Must be able to communicate technology to non-technical individuals. Ability to lead a team and make decisions for an organization is key. Must be an expert in Terraform and overall Azure IaS and IaaC.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deploying, managing, and maintaining Azure-based workloads, with a focus on the infrastructure as a service aspect
- Configuring and integrating Azure Active Directory and other Azure services
- Ensuring proper permissions, access, and security roles are set up
- Providing support and guidance to the internal team, which has some Azure training but needs someone to 'kickstart the process'
- Collaborating with the networking team to understand subscriptions, costing models, and network resources
- Experience with Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Experience with VMware, hyperconverged infrastructure, physical compute, and storage to support the traditional on-premises infrastructure
- The ideal candidate should have expert-level Azure expertise, with experience in setting up Azure landing zones and supporting cloud-based AI projects.
- The role is 100% remote, with occasional on-site meetings, and includes a 24/7 on-call rotation.
