Software Engineer, you'll design and build
Agentic AI applications that leverage
multi-agent orchestration frameworks and
Large Language Models (LLMs). You'll integrate Generative AI into Walmart's
federated GraphQL data gateway and distributed systems, enabling store managers, team leads, and associates to solve real-world retail challenges at scale.
Key Responsibilities1. Requirements Analysis & Scoping
- Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and classify requirements (functional, non-functional, emergent).
- Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities between business needs and existing solutions.
- Translate business objectives into Agile-friendly user stories and technical designs.
2. Solution Architecture & Design
- Design scalable, distributed, and resilient AI/ML solutions for enterprise use.
- Architect multi-agent orchestration workflows, where specialized AI agents collaborate to solve complex tasks.
- Convert high-level designs into detailed solution components (mock screens, pseudocode, functional logic).
- Evaluate trade-offs across performance, scalability, and cost.
3. AI/ML & Agentic Development
- Research, prototype, and implement Agentic AI applications leveraging frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel.
- Build and optimize multi-agent orchestration pipelines, enabling task decomposition, coordination, and collaboration among AI agents.
- Develop and fine-tune LLMs for Walmart-specific use cases.
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, vector stores, embeddings, and query expansion techniques.
- Apply advanced prompt engineering, grounding mechanisms, and reasoning strategies to improve AI accuracy.
4. Software Development & Testing
- Write clean, maintainable, and secure code in Python, Java, JavaScript/Node.js.
- Build backend services with Spring Boot, GraphQL, and event-driven architectures (Kafka, JMS).
- Contribute to mobile-first associate experiences (iOS/Android).
- Develop and execute automated test cases to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
5. CI/CD, Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Build CI/CD pipelines for multi-agent workflows, model training, containerization, and deployment.
- Deploy solutions to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Walmart Cloud Native Platform (WCNP).
- Monitor and maintain production systems using Dynatrace, Open Observe, and telemetry.
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience deploying AI/ML and agent-based applications into production.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Node.js, and modern frameworks (Spring Boot, LangChain, LangGraph).
- Experience with multi-agent orchestration frameworks and LLM-powered workflows.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native platforms (Azure, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Experience with GraphQL and databases (Azure SQL, Cassandra, Cosmos DB).
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and automated testing.
Preferred Skills- Experience with Agentic AI development using LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel.
- Practical knowledge of multi-agent orchestration strategies (task decomposition, role-based AI agents, collaborative planning).
- Hands-on experience with vector databases, RAG pipelines, and LLM tuning.
- Familiarity with multimodal data (text, image, speech) integration.
- Experience designing intelligent caching, observability, and policy enforcement for AI systems.
- Background in enterprise-scale mobile and cloud-native development.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
