Job Title: Digital Services Tech (Surveyor)
Positions Available: 4
Contract Duration: 9 month assignment with possible extension
Work Type: Part-time, Remote, 10-20 hours a week
Job Overview
The Client is seeking skilled Surveyors to support digital boundary mapping work. This assignment, managed through Covendis Workforce Management, focuses on reviewing legal property descriptions associated with Notices of Land Use Restriction and converting them into accurate digital boundary representations using CAD or GIS tools. No fieldwork is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret legal descriptions found in Notice of Land Use Restriction (NLUR) deed documents.
- Accurately draft restricted property boundaries using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or Geographic Information System (GIS) software.
- Prepare digital deliverables including shapefiles or CAD files.
- Document situations where legal descriptions cannot be accurately mapped and provide clear written explanations.
- Recommend cost-effective solutions or clarifications for complex or incomplete legal descriptions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional surveying experience, including drafting legal property descriptions.
- Strong proficiency in CAD and/or GIS software.
- Access to a personal computer and software capable of producing shapefiles or CAD files.
- Thorough understanding of surveying principles, methods, and boundary analysis.
- Ability to interpret complex property legal descriptions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
