Summary

Job Title: Infrastructure Support Engineer Passive Infrastructure Monitoring (Cell Towers)

Location: Alaska (Onsite Only)

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 6+ Months with strong possibility of extension

Role Summary:

The Infrastructure Support Engineer will support passive telecom infrastructure across cell tower sites in Alaska. The role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining non-RF infrastructure including power, batteries, generators, shelters, and environmental systems to ensure high network availability in remote and extreme conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and respond to passive infrastructure alarms (power, battery, generator, HVAC).
Perform onsite troubleshooting and corrective maintenance.
Support outage response, emergency dispatch, and root cause analysis.
Coordinate with NOC teams, utilities, OEM vendors, and field contractors.
Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) and routine site inspections.
Maintain accurate tickets, reports, and maintenance documentation.
Support generator testing, battery replacement, and site readiness activities.
Ensure compliance with safety, access, and operational standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years supporting telecom passive infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of:

DC power systems, rectifiers, and batteries (VRLA/Lithium).
Diesel generators, ATS, and fuel systems.
Shelter HVAC and environmental monitoring.

Experience working on remote/rural cell tower sites.
Ability to interpret alarms, power diagrams, and schematics.
Familiarity with NOC tools and ticketing systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Tier-1 telecom operators.
Cold-weather or Arctic deployment experience.
OSHA / tower safety certifications.
Knowledge of grounding, lightning protection, and site hardening.
