As a
Data Engineer , you'll provide your talents in contributing to the success of the Zions team by delivering all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, integration testing, deployment, operations support, and documentation using Agile methodologies. Also, able to work independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical understanding, handle multiple concurrent projects, with an ability to prioritize and manage projects effectively with changing priorities.
Responsibilities: - Manage Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Cloudera data lake production environment and proactively address all production support activities in a timely manner by troubleshooting issues and following up with stakeholders.
- Be familiar with code deployment activities between Non-Production and Production environments and coordinate with data operations teams to deploy changes.
- Support different data pipelines (real-time, batch, etc.) executed through the Cloudera data lake environment.
- Regularly monitor EDW and Big Data processes to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Gain and apply knowledge of Control-M, Python, IBM WebSphere DataStage, SQL/Plsql & Unix scripting.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a focus on long-term strategy, application stability, refactoring, and re-usability.
- Identify, investigate, and propose solutions to technical problems. Document and track and escalate issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Serve in the on-call rotation to support Test, QA, and Production environments.

Qualifications: - Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience with Data Warehousing, data technologies, ETL solutions (IBM Datastage preferred), SQL, UNIX/Linux scripting, and Big Data distributed systems. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
- Knowledge of programming languages like Python, PySpark, orchestration tools and processes.
- Knowledge of data migration, data analysis, data transformations, conversion, interface, large volume data loading (ETL techniques), database modeling, and performance SQL tuning.
- Experience working with cloud or on-prem Big Data/MPP analytics platform like Databricks, Google BigQuery, Azure Data Warehouse, or similar using Python and PySpark is a plus
- Experience with designing and implementing real-time ETL pipelines is a plus
- Experience In scheduling and monitoring jobs with using Top tier schedulers like Control-M/Autosys is a plus
- Exposure to writing and analyzing complex SQL/ETL scripts is a plus
- Experience working with Greenplum, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Teradata, Databricks, Hive and delimited text files would be helpful.
Work Location: This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
