Learning Designer

Location: Chicago, IL

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Learning Designer to support the design and delivery of high-impact onboarding and training programs for a large franchise-based organization. This role involves translating business and operational needs into engaging, scalable, and performance-focused learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with stakeholders and SMEs to design end-to-end learning programs

• Translate business goals into clear learning outcomes and learning journeys

• Design adult-learning-focused instructional content (facilitator guides, participant materials, digital assets)

• Apply instructional design and learning science best practices

• Support LMS course setup, content upload, and learner navigation

• Facilitate design reviews, manage feedback, and ensure timely delivery

• Maintain documentation, timelines, and milestone-based deliverables

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Learning / Instructional / Learning Experience Designer

• Strong background in adult learning, curriculum design, and blended learning solutions

• Experience working with LMS platforms

• Excellent stakeholder collaboration and communication skills

• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

• Bachelor's degree in Learning Design, Instructional Design, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing onboarding or leadership development programs

• Background in hospitality, retail, or operationally complex environments

• Experience working with franchise or distributed models

Portfolio Required:
Candidates must submit a portfolio or work samples demonstrating relevant learning design projects.
