DESCRIPTION: SAIC has an opportunity for a Transition Engineer to guide, and provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory services for a government customer in Chantilly, VA . The successful candidate will:
Assist the government oversee, guide, and manage technical efforts for transition activities delivering vital mission operations capabilities. Efforts provide enterprise-wide, high-impact systems engineering and project management services.
Anticipate, assign, drive projects and customer requirements to closure; continually assess tasks, realign/reprioritize/augment assignments as appropriate.
Work with government managers to plan, organize, execute, and track efforts.
Maintain awareness of government's evolving needs and proactively provide analysis, insights, recommendations to improve delivery of services and/or exploit opportunity to enhance process, resource effectiveness, or efficiency.
Provide technical support to government contacts.
Identify and communicate status, risks, issues, opportunities, assumptions, mitigations, and dependencies for transition activities.
Promote and facilitate collaboration with government, SETA team members, and other contractors; across the enterprise, to ensure success of transition activities.
Develop assessments and staffing products for a variety of audiences, convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership.

Required:
Possess Active TS/SCI with current polygraph
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or relevant field and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's Degree in STEM or relevant field and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience
Demonstrated success performing project management and systems engineering tasks, delivering mission capabilities

Required:

Demonstrated success performing project management and systems engineering tasks, delivering mission capabilities
- Knowledge of SIGINT space and ground architecture including mission control and/or mission processing functions
- Program lifecycle experience from concept development and design to deployment, operations and maintenance, decommission and be familiar with related control gates and associated documentation
- Experience with CONOPS and requirements development, systems analysis, interface control documentation, technical specification review, integration and testing; validation and verification
- Self-starter, able to proactively address customer requirements with no supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics
- Impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment, polished communicator (written/verbal)
- Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), MS Outlook, MS Project
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, tasking process, and ground station characteristics
- Knowledge of SIGINT TCPED process
- Familiar with M BSE/Digital Engineering, AGILE development, cloud technologies
