Qualifications
Completion of a master s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
10+ years of experience in R&D.
Experience with multidisciplinary teams located in different locations/countries.
Experience in design of complex systems solutions including several engineering disciplines for Oil & Gas, mining and/or aerospace industry.
Lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of HV, MV, and LV (AC/DC) electrical power systems
Experience in designing solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multi disciplines.
Experience in designing solutions for well intervention applications involving multi disciplines is desirable.
Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers as needed.
Experience defining requirements and reviewing proposals from third party (manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers).
Knowledge of vessels structure and process is desirable.
Knowledge and experience in Risk Assessment, FMEA, other reliability tools.
Knowledgeable on power distribution systems (switchgears, MCC, BOP), protection, and control systems
Familiarity with design principles, codes, and standards for EIC design in Canada and the US
Proficiency with ETAP and SKM Power Tools
Advanced experience with design, simulation, development, implementation, verification, and validation of power electronic based systems/solutions.
Troubleshooting of power electronics and proficiency in using lab equipment.
Knowledge of communication systems/solutions (data compression and transmission).
Advanced working knowledge in electronic circuit design and in commonly used circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE, etc.) and math tools (Matlab, MathCAD, etc.) applied to embedded systems in harsh environments (O&G, mining or aerospace).
Knowledge in power systems demands (Batteries / Recharge / Power management / Passivation / Ramp up / Shut down).
