Google Cloud Platform Engineer

What you ll do

Design, build, and support cloud infrastructure and services on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).

Implement and manage IAM, org policies, VPC networking, firewall rules, Cloud NAT, VPN/Interconnect (as applicable).

Build CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Terraform (preferred) and/or Cloud Deployment Manager.

Operate and monitor production environments using Cloud Monitoring/Logging, alerting, and incident response best practices.

Support container and compute platforms: GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine.

Work with security teams to enforce controls (KMS, secrets management, least privilege, audit logs).

Collaborate with app/dev teams to optimize reliability, performance, and cost (FinOps basics).

Required skills

Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform core services: IAM, VPC, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud DNS, Cloud Load Balancing.

Strong Terraform experience (modules, state management, workspaces, best practices).

Experience with Linux, scripting (Bash/Python), and Git-based workflows.

Experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and/or containerization (Docker).

Practical understanding of security concepts: IAM, service accounts, key management, logging/auditing.

Nice to have

Data services: BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer

Security tooling: Security Command Center, Cloud Armor

SRE practices: SLOs/SLIs, runbooks, on-call support

Certifications: Associate Cloud Engineer / Professional Cloud Architect

Phoenix requirement

Must be based in Phoenix metro or willing to relocate immediately

EDUCATION
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
