Role Overview

The DevSecOps Delivery Architect is accountable for the technical success of complex customer engagements. This role provides end-to-end architecture leadership, hands-on senior engineering, and delivery guidance across DevSecOps, cloud, and platform initiatives. The architect partners closely with customers to discover requirements, define acceptance criteria, and design scalable, secure solutions, while working in lockstep with Project Managers and engineering teams to deliver within agreed scope, timeline, and constraints.

This is a high-visibility, customer-facing role requiring both strategic thinking and deep technical execution.

Key Focus Areas

• Lead discovery efforts to identify, decompose, document, and solve complex customer challenges at scale

• Serve as technical lead and hands-on architect on high-impact engagements, balancing independent execution with senior project leadership

• Design and deliver solutions across AWS and Azure cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform a plus), as well as edge, colocation, and on-prem environments

• Architect and implement GitOps-driven delivery models, enabling push-button deployments from development through production

• Design CI/CD pipelines integrating:

  • Artifact and image management

  • Configuration management

  • Security tooling (DevSecOps integration)

  • Automated testing and environment promotion

• Define and implement source control (Git) repository strategies, including:

  • Repository structure and organization

  • Workflow models and branching strategies

  • Naming conventions, versioning standards, and access controls

• Enable and onboard application teams by:

  • Establishing CI standards for new repositories

  • Supporting feature development

  • Removing adoption barriers and improving developer experience

• Lead and mentor internal and customer teams to automate and continuously improve delivery pipelines, uplifting skills across the DevOps toolchain and ecosystem

• Design and implement Kubernetes platform services at scale, including:

  • Cluster architecture and lifecycle management

  • Kubernetes distributions and service mesh

  • Image and artifact management

  • Persistent storage

  • Platform onboarding and enablement

• Establish and guide operational standards for customer teams, including:

  • Versioning and naming conventions

  • Dependency management

  • Best practices and governance

  • Notifications, alerting, and observability integration

Skills & Qualifications

Core Capabilities

• Strong desire and proven ability to succeed in a customer-facing consulting role

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly

• 7+ years of client-facing experience (consulting background strongly preferred)

• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevSecOps and CI/CD, including build, deploy, and test automation

• 2+ years working within Agile, Lean, or iterative delivery models

Technical Expertise

• Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management, preferably Terraform and Ansible, fully integrated into CI/CD pipelines

• Experience executing value stream mapping to improve delivery efficiency (preferred)

• Strong proficiency in at least one modern object-oriented language (Java, Python, Ruby, or similar)

• Hands-on experience automating real-world, production-grade environments

• Strong Linux and Windows systems administration skills in cloud or virtualized environments

• Solid understanding of:

  • IP networking, VPNs, DNS

  • Load balancing and firewalling

• Experience with containers and container platforms, including Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, or similar

• Experience implementing policy as code aligned with security, privacy, and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, regulatory frameworks)

• Familiarity with collaboration and communication tools such as Slack, Confluence, or similar, in distributed, remote-first teams

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel up to 25%, as required and approved by customers (most engagements delivered remotely)
