Mobile Application Developer

Onsite role to Detroit, MI from day one.

We are seeking a Mobile Application Developer to rebuild and modernize dispatch-related (CAD) interfaces for a mobile-first public safety environment. This role focuses on delivering secure, reliable mobile applications on iOS and Android, enabling field personnel to access live dispatch data directly on phones instead of in-car PCs.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing CAD/dispatch interfaces used in vehicles and stations

• Identify and redesign suitable interfaces for mobile platforms (iOS & Android)

• Build and maintain mobile applications using Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, Java, or cross-platform frameworks

• Support mobile-first and embedded intelligence initiatives for public safety vehicles

• Design, test, deploy, and optimize mobile apps for performance and reliability

• Ensure secure integrations and CJIS-compliant data access

TAK / Public Safety Integrations

• Install and configure a TAK Server as a proof of concept within the County network

• Integrate TAK Server with TAKAware (iOS) and ATAK (Android) applications

• Enable group-based user visibility and location sharing

• Integrate TAK Server with CLEMIS CAD systems to display:

  • Live incidents and call details

  • Live unit statuses

  • Live unit locations

• Display CAD data within:

  • ATAK (Android)

  • TAKAware (iOS)

Security & Compliance

• Ensure mobile connections are secure, reliable, and CJIS-compliant

• Support application security behind OKTA authentication

Required Skills

• Hands-on mobile application development experience (iOS and/or Android)

• Strong experience with TAK ecosystem (ATAK, iTAK, TAKAware)

• Experience integrating mobile apps with REST APIs and backend systems

• Familiarity with Git, Agile methodologies, and mobile testing frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

• Public safety or law-enforcement application experience

• Experience with CAD, dispatch, or real-time data systems

• Knowledge of mobile analytics and crash reporting tools (Firebase, Crashlytics)
