We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer with deep expertise in warehouse automation to lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of a fully automated cold-storage warehouse. This role will play a critical part in driving system architecture, managing technical reviews, maintaining project timelines, and delivering both long-term and interim automation solutions to accelerate commissioning and go-live.

Lead the end-to-end design, implementation, and commissioning of a fully automated cold-storage warehouse, including AGVs, automated pallet handling and exchange systems, pallet washers, and conveyor-based material flow systems
Own the overall automation architecture and controls strategy, collaborating closely with OEMs and system integrators on PLCs, WCS/WMS, safety systems, and SAP integration
Drive detailed technical and design reviews to identify risks, resolve automation bottlenecks, and optimize throughput, reliability, and system availability in cold-storage environments
Develop and implement interim and fallback operating modes (manual or semi-automated workflows) to reduce commissioning risk and accelerate system go-live
Define automation standards, best practices, and scalability plans to support future expansion, including a potential Phase 2 second-floor automation build-out
Act as a key technical liaison between automation vendors, IT, engineering, and operations teams to ensure successful delivery and handover

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical or life-sciences discipline
5+ years of hands-on experience designing, installing, and commissioning automated warehouse or distribution center systems
Strong expertise in warehouse automation technologies, including AGVs, automated pallet handling/exchange systems, conveyors, and material flow solutions
Proven experience working with system integrators, OEMs, IT teams, and operations to deliver fully automated warehouse environments
Willingness and ability to work 100% onsite in Blue Ash, OH
