BCforward is currently seeking an initiative-taking Linux Engineer for an opportunity in Atlanta, GA

Position Title: Linux Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Expected Duration: Expected 12-Month.

Job Type: CONTRACT, (Hybrid)

Monday- Friday (5x8)

Candidate who is authorized to work independently

Pay Range: $65 - $70/hr.

Job Description:

Administer and support Linux servers (RHEL 8, 9) across physical and virtual environments.
Deploy, configure, and maintain Tanium agents and modules for endpoint visibility, patching, and compliance.
Manage BMC BladeLogic Server Automation for patching, configuration management, and provisioning.
Support and maintain IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) and related components for system performance and event monitoring.
Automate routine administrative tasks using shell scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl).
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with security, application, and infrastructure teams on system hardening and patch deployment.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for critical incidents and maintenance activities.
Document procedures, configurations, and operational processes
5 plus years of experience in systems administration and patch management.
Strong knowledge of Linux (RHEL/SUSE).
Experience with patch automation tools (e.g., Bladelogic, Ansible, Splunk).
Own the patch management lifecycle for Windows/Linux systems.
Manage vulnerability remediation in coordination with the Security team.
Perform patch impact analysis and risk assessment.
Maintain documentation for patching standards and procedures.
Provide support and maintenance for SSO-integrated applications
Week-end working hours required if necessary to complete the job functions (Saturday and Sunday)
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Red Hat Certification is plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
