Job Description:
Client is seeking experienced (5+ years) Application Project Managers (PMs) responsible for planning, managing, delivery and ongoing application support for IT initiatives for County departments and Agencies, including the implementation of and/or integration with COTS and SaaS vendor solutions as well as the development and enhancement of internally developed line-of-business applications.
The Project Manager provides hands-on leadership, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality while applying a standard project management methodology and adapting delivery approaches as appropriate. Responsibilities include actively managing day-to-day project tasks, working closely with 4–8 technical and business team members, coordinating with vendors, and contributing directly to key deliverables (i.e., requirements, testing plans, and implementation documentation).
The role also requires familiarity with shepherding initiatives through RFI/RFP processes in coordination with Purchasing and Legal, including requirements development, vendor engagement, evaluation support, and transition from award to implementation. Strong communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure adherence to established technical, security, and governance standards are required. Additional responsibilities include managing department customer relationships.
Environment:
Projects are delivered using a structured project management methodology that incorporates A, Agile, and hybrid approaches as appropriate. The role leverages a Microsoft-centric toolset, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint for collaboration and documentation; Clarity PPM for portfolio, schedule, and resource management; and Azure DevOps for tracking work and delivery coordination.
The environment includes hybrid cloud and on-premises platforms, vendor-hosted solutions, and integrated systems using APIs and data exchanges. The customer approach emphasizes strong partnerships with County departments and Agencies, clear communication, accountability, and practical execution to deliver secure, reliable, and effective technology solutions that support essential public services.
