For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $95,500 - $120,960 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The
System Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, installing, and maintaining Foxboro Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and related infrastructure. This role requires expertise in system architecture, network configuration, software installation, and commissioning activities to ensure reliable and secure operation of industrial automation systems.
What will you do?System Design & Architecture- Develop system architecture drawings using MS Visio or CAD.
- Review and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) for accuracy and completeness.
- Size system components (servers, workstations, controllers, switches) to meet project requirements.
Network & Security Configuration- Configure iDMZ domain, user access, and Fortinet firewalls for secure remote connectivity.
- Set up MESH and ACN switches using EcoStructure Foxboro DCS Switch Configurator (SCAS).
Software Installation & Configuration- Install and configure Foxboro DCS CCS Enterprise and Local Editions, CS software, and related applications.
- Apply CCS software fixes and CS maintenance packs; document updates in project Software Matrix.
- Install and configure McAfee ePO and ENS security software, Veritas backup solutions, and non-standard software as required.
System Management & Applications- Configure Active Directory users and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Utilize ICC, IACC, FoxView/FoxDraw, System Manager, AIM Historian, and ADMC for system and application configuration.
- Perform database migrations and validate system health.
Project Execution- Lead technical discussions during project kick-off meetings.
- Support sales team during proposal development and BOM reviews.
- Develop FAT and commissioning test documents; execute FAT and site commissioning activities.
Migration & Upgrades- Implement Foxboro DCS 100 Series FBM upgrades and competitive migration offerings.
- Support intelligent fieldbus integration (HART, FF, Profibus, DeviceNet).
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Foxboro DCS hardware and software components.
- Proficiency in network configuration, cybersecurity tools, and system backup solutions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain complex control systems.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills for customer engagement and project reporting.
- Familiarity with Foxboro DCS, Wonderware Historian, and related technologies.
- Experience with Active Directory, firewall configuration, and cybersecurity best practices.
