Your impact
Blacklynx, a Jacobs company, is seeking a talented and motivated GNC Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a GNC Modeling and Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of guidance, navigation, and control systems for space systems. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful integration and performance of these systems.
Location: Rockville, MD and Chantilly, VA
Responsibilities:
* Design and develop guidance, navigation, and control algorithms and systems.
* Perform system modeling, simulation, and analysis to validate GNC designs.
* Model spacecraft systems using MATLAB and Simulink.
* Develop and implement software for real-time GNC applications.
* Conduct testing and verification of GNC systems in laboratory and field environments.
* Ensure models are vigorously tested and validated.
* Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure system requirements are met.
* Prepare technical documentation and reports.
* Stay current with advancements in GNC technologies and methodologies.
Here's what you'll need
* Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Proven experience in the design and development of GNC systems.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, MATLAB, and Simulink.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with system modeling and simulation tools.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred:
* Experience with aerospace and defense applications.
* Knowledge of sensor fusion, Kalman filtering, and control theory.
* Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and real-time systems.
* Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principals
