Summary
Job Title: Manager, Application Development
Location: Broomfield, CO (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and manage a team of application developers across multiple scrum teams and business units.
- Oversee resource planning, allocation, workload management, and team capacity.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture focused on quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
- Coach, mentor, and guide team members in technical growth, project delivery, and career development.
Application Development & Governance
- Provide technical leadership in application design, development, integration, and support.
- Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, security practices, and compliance requirements.
- Review code and ensure solutions meet organizational architecture, quality, and information security standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing performance metrics and incorporating user feedback.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner closely with the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) and participate in relevant delivery and stakeholder ceremonies.
- Collaborate with business leaders and internal IT teams to deliver solutions aligned with operational and strategic goals.
- Influence executive leadership through technical insight, solution design, and delivery recommendations.
Vendor & Platform Management
- Work with external vendors on integrated solutions and vendor-packaged applications.
- Stay current with vendor product roadmaps to ensure application health, currency, and architectural alignment.
- Support and enhance the core banking ecosystem, including Symitar and related financial platforms.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
- 6+ years of experience working with financial institution technologies, including:
- Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU)
- MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami
- COTS systems, Image Center, OpCon, or similar platforms
- Experience with modern software development methodologies, version control systems, and testing practices.
- Proven leadership and people management experience, including coaching, mentoring, and team development.
- Strong understanding of Agile and iterative project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience developing, integrating, and supporting core banking applications, including:
- Symitar
- PowerOn
- RepGen
- Experience with IBM AIX operating systems.
- Proficiency in SQL development, relational databases, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework and experience implementing engineering processes, procedures, and templates.
