Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months Contract or CTH

Description:

1. Cross-platform CI/CD engineering

• Supporting Windows, Linux, and macOS environments
• Designing:
• Reusable, platform-agnostic pipelines
• Platform-specific pipelines where needed (because embedded one-size-fits-all)
• Likely tools: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc. (not named, but implied)

2. Embedded software CI/CD expertise (this is key)

They need someone who understands:

• Embedded build workflows (cross-compilers, SDKs, Yocto/Bazel/CMake/Make, etc.)
• Hardware dependencies in CI (mocking vs real devices)
• Firmware versioning, packaging, flashing, and validation
• Why embedded CI/CD is not the same as web/app CI/CD

This is the differentiator vs a standard DevOps engineer.

3. Internal consulting + collaboration

• Work directly with development teams
• Help:
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines
• Improve deployment/release strategies
• Balance:
• Reusing existing solutions where they make sense
• Building new ones only when justified (signals pragmatism, not greenfield-only mindset)
