Senior Database Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a full-time Senior Database Administrator in Winter Park, FL. This role will be hybrid - 3 days onsite (Flexible).

Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (Senior DBA) to serve as the primary technical owner of the organization's database environment and supporting infrastructure. This role is DBA-first, with a strong emphasis on operational stability, infrastructure ownership, and data pipeline support. It is not a database developer position. The Senior DBA will play a critical role in ensuring data reliability and availability, with a strong focus on supporting executive-level reporting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration & Infrastructure:
* Own and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments
* Ensure database performance, reliability, and availability
* Support database-related infrastructure in on-prem and cloud environments
* Maintain operational stability (-keeping the lights on-) while improving scalability
* Manage database licenses and renewals

Data Pipelines & Integration:
* Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines (approximately 50% of the role)
* Integrate data from third-party sources
* Transform data for downstream analytics and reporting

Reporting & Business Support:
* Support executive-level reporting, the top priority for the role
* Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility

Stakeholder Collaboration:
* Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements
* Lead and participate in discovery sessions
* Act as a bridge between Business Analysts and technical teams
* Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences

REQUIREMENTS:
* To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
* Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
