Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Desktop Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical support to onsite employees. This role is focused on day-to-day desktop, hardware, software, and network support, ensuring minimal downtime and a positive end-user experience. The ideal candidate thrives in an onsite environment and enjoys being the go-to person for IT support.
Responsibilities
Provide onsite and remote technical support for end users
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues (desktops, laptops, printers, phones, scanners, etc.)
Install, configure, and maintain Windows desktop and laptop systems
Manage user accounts, access, and permissions in Active Directory and Microsoft 365
Support onboarding and offboarding (new user setup, hardware provisioning, reclaiming equipment)
Document incidents, resolutions, assets, and configurations in a ticketing system
Escalate complex issues to internal IT teams or vendors as needed
Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and software licensing
Support meeting room and video conferencing technologies
Partner with internal IT teams and managed service providers (MSPs)
Required Qualifications
1 3 years of experience in Desktop Support, IT Support, or Help Desk roles
Strong experience supporting Windows environments
Working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive)
Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
Familiarity with ticketing systems
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently in a fully onsite environment
Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed
Preferred Qualifications
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications
Experience supporting VOIP/phones and basic networking
Exposure to server or infrastructure troubleshooting
Experience working with MSPs
