Job Title: Engineering Technician BJob ID: 32204Job Location: Lockbourne, OHJob Schedule: 9/80 REG - Off Every Other FridayEssential Functions:- Test, diagnose, repair, configure, and perform preventative maintenance on network equipment, telecommunications equipment, and/or computers supporting FAA's FTI, ADS-B, MFN-2, and DCNS networks.
- Manage configuration, software, and licensing changes for Cisco, Juniper, and various other networking and telecommunications equipment.
- Operate and test with various electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, RF generators, VIAVI 5800, and Tempo Datascout.
- Terminate and build cable connectors (RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25) and replacements as needed.
- Maintain records of repairs, changes, and updates in homegrown database systems.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment using principles of 5S.
- Read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds (22.67 kg).
Qualifications:- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:- Familiarity with Cisco devices and command-line interfaces using terminal software (e.g., Putty, TeraTerm, Hyperterm, Procomm).
- Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and follow-through.
- Team player who is proactive and customer-oriented with a sense of urgency to achieve tasks or goals.
- High level of initiative and willingness to learn.
- Military training or trade school program in electronics or IT systems.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
