Position Overview
The ServiceNow Platform Administrator is responsible for the configuration, administration, and operational health of the ServiceNow platform. This role blends technical expertise, platform governance, and incident resolution to ensure stability, security, and scalability of the ServiceNow environment. Acting as the backbone of day-to-day operations, the ServiceNow Platform Administrator partners closely with the Platform Owner, Platform Architect, developers and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, compliant, and sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain all ServiceNow environments, including user/group management, access controls, and system configurations.
- Configure and support core ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, SPM, IRM, CMDB, and Performance Analytics.
- Develop and maintain catalog items, workflows, business rules, client/server scripts, and automated flows using Flow Designer.
- Perform platform patching, upgrades, hotfixes, and regression testing to ensure platform stability and compliance.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for incidents, escalations, and operational issues.
- Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive improvements.
- Ensure alignment with Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and organizational data standards.
- Support SOX compliance activities, including change management, access provisioning, and audit readiness documentation.
- Collaborate with platform architect and developers to implement enhancements and integrations.
- Maintain platform documentation, knowledge base articles, and system logs.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in ServiceNow administration and development.
- Ability to work outside of standard work hours due to maintenance, outages or major incidents.
- Located in the US Easter or Central Time zones.
- ServiceNow System Administrator (CSA) certification required.
- Hands-on experience with ITSM, CMDB, and at least one additional ServiceNow module (ITOM, SPM, IRM).
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Flow Designer, Business Rules, and ServiceNow data structures.
- Experience supporting large-scale ServiceNow environments with multiple instances.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery models and ITIL processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot independently, ask questions when needed, and complete assigned work without handholding.
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
- Familiarity with SOX controls, audit processes, and secure development practices.
- Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and MID Servers.
- Exposure to Performance Analytics or HRSD modules
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
