Note from the client:
- Must attend in-person interviews (no exceptions).
- Candidate must be available for Onsite from Day 1, Tue/Wed mandatory, may transition to 5 days onsite)
- Interview Process: Vendor required to upload screenshot picture of candidate if interview is requested.
- Must be able to work onsite Tuesday & Wednesday each week (8 hours per day).
- Must be willing to transition to 5 days onsite if required (no remote-only option).
Max rate is $60/hrs all inclusive on Corp to Corp
Top Skills & Years of Experience:
- 5+ years experience designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
- 5+ years experience analyzing requirements, user stories (in Azure DevOps), and acceptance criteria to design effective, reusable test cases (including positive, negative, and boundary testing).
- Demonstrable experience automating web applications using frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
Description: The Software Test Analyst 5 position will work as a contract resource for the State of Michigan - Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supporting multiple software development projects for the Department of Health and Human Services. The resource will act in a tester and analyst role for various in-flight projects. The resource will work in an agile environment to write and execute use cases, test plans and develop testing scripts for custom .NET web applications.
Must Have senior level (5+ years) experience and proficiency in the following:
- Designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
- Understanding of the secure application development lifecycle (SADLC).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance processes (Quality Assurance, User Acceptance, System Integration, Accessibility, Performance, Regression, Post Deployment Validation, Data Conversion).
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design test cases.
- Java and JavaScript
- Issue tracking and defect management.
- Generating and documenting test plans and strategies.
- Generating testing reports and metrics.
- API testing and tools like Postman, Rest Client and others.
- Writing SQL, P-SQL queries.
- Generating and acquiring test data.
- Ability to work in person in downtown Lansing 2 days a week.
- Build environments {DEV, UAT, QAT, PRE-PROD} specific test suites with integrated application life cycle management.

- Experience using Azure DevOps Testing Module.
- Experience with Mobile App testing of iOS and Android applications.
- Knowledge of performance and load testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Experience with ADA Compliance testing tools, such as AccVerify, JAWS, etc.

Testing & Quality Assurance Skills
- Designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance processes (Quality Assurance, User Acceptance, System Integration, Accessibility, Performance, Regression, Post Deployment Validation, Data Conversion).
- Generating and documenting test plans and strategies.
- Generating testing reports and metrics.
- Generating and acquiring test data.
- ADA Compliance testing tools, such as AccVerify, JAWS, etc.
- API testing and tools like Postman, Rest Client, and others.
- Build environments {DEV, UAT, QAT, PRE-PROD} specific test suites with integrated application life cycle management.

- Experience in identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs clearly and concisely in a tool like Azure DevOps.
- Performance and load testing with tools like JMeter or LoadRunner
Automation & Technical Skills
- Proven experience writing clean, maintainable, and object-oriented Java code for test automation.
- Demonstrable experience automating web applications using frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
- Writing clear and effective Gherkin scenarios (Given/When/Then).
- Implementing Step Definitions in Java.
- Writing SQL and P-SQL queries.
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries (SELECTs, JOINs) for test data setup and validation against Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
- Proficiency in using Git for version control (merging, pull requests) as part of a team.
Agile & Collaboration
- Experience working as an active participant in an Agile/Scrum team and its ceremonies.
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design test cases.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
- Strong skills in communicating test results, bugs, and risks to developers, BAs, and other stakeholders.
Security & Compliance
- Understanding of the secure application development lifecycle (SADLC).
Soft Skills & Other Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have:
- Experience using Azure DevOps Testing Module.

- A background in Selenium WebDriver, which provides a strong foundation for understanding the strategies and nuances of browser automation.
- Experience with the TestNG framework. (This remains valuable since your framework uses it for test running and its skipping logic).
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or API Request Context.
