Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Mainframe Top Secret Security Administrator to serve as a subject-matter expert supporting enterprise mainframe environments. This senior-level role is responsible for maintaining data security, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day mainframe system administration in support of legacy systems and ongoing mainframe transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject-matter expert for Mainframe Top Secret Security (TSS) administration, ensuring data security and regulatory compliance

• Perform advanced z/OS systems administration, including planning, implementation, testing, upgrades, and configuration changes

• Coordinate daily mainframe system administration activities, including configuration, break/fix support, and user account management

• Manage certificate renewals and access controls within the mainframe environment

• Monitor system performance, security, and compliance; conduct root cause analysis as needed

• Support data entry and control work processes related to mainframe operations

• Oversee and coordinate mainframe operations within a consolidated data center environment

• Collaborate with Network Administration, Customer Support, and Application Development teams to support daily mainframe operations

• Provide end-user support for ISV tools such as BlueZone

• Support Mainframe Production Control, scheduled batch jobs, and monthly job scheduling activities

• Apply expertise to support both legacy systems and mainframe modernization initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Mainframe Top Secret Security (TSS)

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with z/OS Administration

• 5+ years of experience working with:

  • JES2

  • z/OS UNIX System Services (OMVS)

  • Storage Management Subsystem (SMS)

• 3+ years of experience with TLS configuration, including certificates, SSL (RSA keys), SFTP, and FTPS

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of experience with REXX scripting

• 3+ years of experience in performance monitoring and initial performance issue analysis

• 3+ years of experience with Informatica Power Exchange Administration

Additional Technical Knowledge (Preferred)

Working knowledge of the following mainframe technologies and tools:

• z/OS operations

• z/OS networking, including VTAM and TCP/IP

• Automated job scheduling and management tools (e.g., JOBTRAC)

• Terminal emulation software (BlueZone)

• VTAM session management tools

• SMP/E (System Modification Program/Extended)

• RMF (Resource Measurement Facility)

• SMF (System Management Facility)

• WLM (Workload Management)

• JCL (Job Control Language)

• GRS (Global Resource Serialization)

• VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method)

• TSO (Time Sharing Option)
