Position Overview

The Data Engineer plays a hands-on role in building, operating, and scaling data foundations that support analytics, machine learning, and generative AI applications on AWS. In this role, you will focus on designing and implementing data pipelines, integrating AI and GenAI services, and supporting use cases such as retrieval-augmented generation, agent-based workflows, enterprise search, and analytics. This position expects strong collaboration skills, sound engineering judgment, and growing autonomy in delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Join and contribute to technical discovery with customers to understand business goals, current systems, data landscape, and constraints.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and storage layers on AWS that support analytics, ML, and generative AI workloads.
• Implement data ingestion, transformation, and enrichment workflows using services such as Amazon S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Aurora, and OpenSearch.
• Support generative AI and ML use cases by preparing high-quality datasets, enabling embedding and vector search workflows, and integrating retrieval patterns used by downstream models and agents.
• Contribute production-quality code, infrastructure, and documentation that support secure, reliable, and maintainable deployments.
• Participate in design reviews and delivery ceremonies, identify risks, suggest improvements, and continuously enhance delivery quality.
• Follow established security, privacy, and data governance patterns, including access control, encryption, logging, and lifecycle management.
• Stay current with AWS services, new foundation models, and emerging AI practices.

Stakeholder communication and collaboration

• Present complex technical topics in clear, accessible language for both technical and executive audiences.
• Collaborate with solution architects, ML engineers, and principal consultants to translate architectural designs into working systems aligned with AWS best practices.
