What You Will Do:Provide expert technical leadership for automation engineering initiatives within Department of Defense environments. Define and implement automation strategies that maximize continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) concepts, ensuring secure and efficient software development pipelines. Apply domain expertise in build automation, integration, and testing processes to enhance development productivity and mission readiness. Operate with significant decision-making authority impacting automation implementation and overall engineering efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of automation solutions for DevSecOps pipelines supporting DoD software development projects.
- Establish automation goals, frameworks, and plans that optimize CI/CD processes and align with DoD cybersecurity and compliance standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in build automation, integration, and test methodologies, guiding teams in best practices.
- Direct automation activities, ensuring development efficiency requirements and mission-critical timelines are met.
- Evaluate automation performance and recommend enhancements to improve reliability, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to align automation strategies with DoD operational objectives.
- Ensure all automation solutions comply with NIST standards, RMF guidelines, and DoD governance policies.
What You Will Need:- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "Secret" security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
- Must have at least 14 years of relevant experience.
- Extensive experience in automation engineering and DevSecOps pipeline implementation.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools, build automation frameworks, and secure integration practices.
- Expertise in scripting and automation technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Python).
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity, acquisition, and governance requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills for interfacing with technical teams and senior management.
What Would Be Nice To Have:- Experience supporting DoD or federal environments.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (or Professional).
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
- Active "SECRET" or higher-level clearance preferred.
The annual salary range for this position is $149,000.00-$248,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
