This is a contract position, full-time (40 hours/week).

Position Overview:
A State of California agency is seeking a senior-level Salesforce Technical Lead to provide strategic and hands-on leadership for the design, implementation, and long-term evolution of Salesforce solutions.
This role places a strong emphasis on higher education environments and Salesforce Education Cloud (EDA). The Technical Lead will act as the primary architectural authority, making informed platform and design decisions while ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with institutional goals.
The ideal candidate brings deep Salesforce platform expertise, a product- and roadmap-oriented mindset, and experience collaborating with business stakeholders, enterprise teams, and external vendors or system integrators.
Key Responsibilities:
· Define and lead Salesforce technical architecture and overall solution design
· Provide hands-on technical leadership, standards, and Salesforce best practices
· Ensure data security, governance, and compliance with institutional and public-sector standards
· Translate business and functional requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions
· Review, validate, and approve technical designs and deliverables produced by vendors and system integrators
· Oversee integration design with enterprise systems and external platforms
· Collaborate with project management, change management, and enterprise architecture teams
· Guide platform evolution to support long-term roadmap and institutional objectives
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
· 7+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience, including large-scale implementations
· Demonstrated expertise in Salesforce architecture, configuration, automation, and customization
· Proven experience leading technical teams and providing architectural governance
· Experience overseeing and validating work performed by implementation vendors
· Strong background designing Salesforce solutions that integrate with enterprise systems
· Experience supporting higher education organizations or Salesforce Education Cloud (EDA) implementations
· Salesforce certifications demonstrating advanced platform and architectural knowledge
