Company is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed Database Administrator to join our growing team. The candidate will work within a cohesive engineering team to design, develop and implement database solutions that store, organize, and manage data. They ensure that systems perform and operate efficiently, data is stored regularly and effectively, and that data is secure from unauthorized access. Candidate will plan and implement database performance, security and integrity measures for multiple projects. This position will be directly responsible for a team of database engineers supporting multiple customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance: Performs essential DBA functions for supported databases (SQL Server, Oracle and DB2) Provide SQL Server Support Manages, and implements data schemas, tables, procedures, and permissions. Works with others on the team to provide technical guidance during all phases of the development process and coordinate with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies Performs capacity planning, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting and optimization of the databases; and associated systems Provides normal and emergency production support. Coordinates with user departments and other Support staff in order to resolve system problems Documents database processing procedures, operation run books, and system documentation including training materials and usage statistics Performs research, analysis and recommendation of database software and related tools Develops security strategies for the database environments, as well as assisting in disaster recovery if necessary Other duties as assigned

Education / Experience / Certifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline 7+ years of experience performing the duties of a database administrator MS and/or Oracle Certifications required Must possess and maintain an IT-I level certification IAW AR 25-2 and an IAT II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M- 0002) Knowledge Experience operating any major database system (MS-SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and/or DB2) in an enterprise environment Expertise coding in SQL, Python, Perl, shell, or other high-level languages Knowledge of database tuning, capacity management, and resource forecasting Experience with Linux or Unix Experience working with "big data" (many Terabytes) is an asset General database system knowledge, database theory, disaster recovery, database security, database design, capacity planning, performance analysis, change management A proven ability to find unusual solutions to unusual problems Abilities Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Medical Company utilizes a third-party group benefits provider referred to as TriNet. TriNet provides benefits coverage for employees throughout the world and have different provider options dependent to the geographical location. For Rock Island employees, United Healthcare (UHC) is our current medical provider, offering several different medical plans ranging from PPO to HDHP. Eligibility for medical benefits is the 1st of the month, coinciding with or following date of hire. If hired on October 1st, benefits would begin October 1st. If hired on October 15th, benefits would begin on November 1st. For all health benefits, Company contributes a fixed dollar amount each month towards the plan you elect. The amount is based on covering 100% of the cost for employee only coverage for Medical, Dental and Vision plans. The additional cost of benefits for plans that include employee and spouse, employee and child(ren) or employee and family is paid for by employee contribution. If you already have current group medical coverage, you may choose to waive or opt out of TriNet's group health benefits. If you choose to waive health coverage, you will receive a $400.00 monthly benefit allowance and will still be able to enroll in optional plans and flexible spending accounts. Dental TriNet's four dental carriers - Delta Dental, Aetna, Guardian Dental, and MetLife - offer a high and a low national dental PPO plan. Aetna and Delta Dental also will make available a DMO plan in many states. Vision TriNet also offers a high and a low vision plan nationally through two different carriers: Aetna and Vision Service Plan (VSP). These plan options ensure that you can choose the best plan and carrier for your individual vision needs. Life & Disability Basic Life Insurance & AD&D - TriNet offers company-paid basic life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) plans. The Company pays for basic life insurance coverage valued at $50,000, which includes an equal amount of AD&D coverage. Group Short-Term Disability Insurance - The Company provides a policy that may replace up to 60% of your salary, up to a maximum benefit of $2,308 per week, for qualifying disabilities, for up to a maximum benefit of 180 days. Group Long Term Disability Insurance - The Company provides a policy that may replace up to 60% of your salary, up to a maximum benefit of $12,500 per month, for qualifying disabilities. A waiting period of 180 days will apply. Additional Benefits Supplemental Life Insurance - If you want extra protection for yourself and your eligible dependents, you have the option to elect supplemental life insurance. You may request coverage yourself for one to six times your annual salary, with a maximum benefit of $2,000,000. Spousal coverage is also available in increments of $10,000 up to $150,000, and child coverage for $10,000. Note that amounts above guaranteed issue ($300,000 for you and $30,000 for your spouse) and certain coverage increases must be approved by the insurance carrier. Supplemental Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance - AD&D covers death or dismemberment from an accident only. You may elect supplemental AD&D coverage in amounts of $25,000, $50,000, $100,000, $250,000, $500,000 or $750,000 Pre-Tax Commuter Benefits - The commuter benefit plan allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible commuting costs, such as expenses for parking, public transit and alternative forms of transportation. Passes can be delivered right to your home, or you can simply submit monthly receipts for reimbursement. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - The EAP is available at no cost, even if you don't enroll in TriNet group benefits. You and your family members may access free, confidential counseling and referral services. This program provides 24-hour confidential assistance with personal, family and work-related concerns - plus online resources. Referral Awards Employee Referral - Company employees are encouraged to always be looking for talented and accomplished individuals to join our team.
