Summary
Job Description:
Position: Business Analyst
Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)
Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)
Daily Duties / Responsibilities:
During this assignment, the financial business analyst will report to the functional manager to provide status updates on assigned tasks. The resource should be able to work independently with minimum guidance to enhance the current application’s user interface to be interactive and self-guided primarily in financial areas.
Primary Responsibilities
· Analyze existing workflows to uncover inefficiencies and pain points.
· Design optimized workflows for complex processes in alignment with business requirements.
· Design self-guiding workflows, including guided navigation, tooltips, and contextual assistance, for critical areas such as order entry and financial adjustments.
· Design user-friendly features such as step-by-step wizards, contextual help, and automated guidance to improve usability and reduce training needs.
· Collaborate with other Business Analysts to develop comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and provide general assistance during testing activities.
· Participate in regular functional meetings focused on user-reported issues, enhancements, and bug triage to review progress, discuss solutions, and align on priorities.
Required Skills:
1. 5+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst
2. 5+ years of experience working with Child Support systems
3. 5+ years of experience working with financial operations such as receipts, distribution, disbursements, recoupment, and/or reconciliation
4. 5+ years of experience with workflow design and system enhancement
5. 5+ years of experience conducting Stakeholder Interviews
6. 5+ years with SQL Querying
7. Bachelor's degree
Preferred Skills:
1. Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Microsoft Test Manager
2. Experience with Agile or Waterfall methodology
3. Preference for a degree in Finance or IT
