We have an exciting career opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer in the Electrical Engineering Department located in San Diego, CA (Poway, CA).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under general supervision with limited review, this position supports the design and development of advanced electrical components, equipment and systems for unmanned air vehicles.
  • Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information.
  • Responsible for analog, digital and power conversion circuit design with appropriate analysis and/or CAD modeling.
  • Responsible for control schemes, analog, digital or software, magnetic and electric machine design and/or specification, EMI design, thermal analysis and packaging.
  • Documentation necessary to support production (i.e. test procedures, records, bill of materials, ICD's, SCD's, ECO's and production support) and training.
  • Required to provide field support as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.

  • Able to work extended hours as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
