Database Engineer (DB2/RPG/SQL)

This is for a large, publicly traded oil and gas company based in Houston, TX. A high degree of complexity in this project and effort working with a billion dollar company. The client would prefer the consultant to work a hybrid schedule onsite, however, they can be flexible for full remote.

DB2 Data Engineer (2 openings)

Required skills:

Develop and maintain various database applications on the IBM iSeries platform, utilizing dynamic SQL, convert RPG code to SQL stored procedures; must have advanced knowledge of DB2 on the IBMi platform (formerly DB2/400 or AS/400) including performance tuning, query optimization, and stored procedure development.

Able to read RPGIV, RPGLE, RPGFree programs, embedded SQL
+ Conversion/modernization experience from RPG to SQL stored procedures in DB2 IBM tools such as Aldon, RDI, ACS etc
+ Application development experience interacting with front end using REST APIs, JSON
+ Exposure to python, microservices, VS code IDE development
+ Git source control and integration

If candidates just have embedded SQL and RPG experience, they will not interview them.
