Job Description

What We're Doing:
Lockheed Martin's Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) division delivers cutting-edge Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) solutions across air, land, sea and space. Our ISR platforms collect, process, and fuse massive data streams to provide mission-critical information to warfighters. To keep these systems agile and secure, we need a DevSecOps Engineer who can embed automation, security, and continuous-delivery practices within our software development life-cycle.

Who You Are:
You are a proactive automation-focused engineer who enjoys turning repetitive tasks into reliable, repeatable processes. You thrive in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary Agile environments, paying close attention to detail while delivering builds, deployments, and configuration-resolution analysis across development, test, and production pipelines.

What You'll Do:
Build & Operate Secure CI/CD Pipelines - Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo) that integrate code quality, secret scanning, dependency checking, and compliance reporting in line with industry-standard cyber-security frameworks.
Support Multi-Team DevSecOps Needs - Partner with several software product teams to provide tooling, integrations, and troubleshooting for heterogeneous environments (Linux, Windows, containers).
Drive Agile Delivery - Work side-by-side with Scrum and Kanban teams, contributing technical expertise to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and rapid issue resolution.
Modernize Legacy Assets - Assess and refactor existing applications and toolchains, introducing containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and Infrastructure-as-Code practices where appropriate.
Administer Atlassian Ecosystem - Manage JIRA, Confluence, and related Atlassian tools to streamline Agile workflows and reporting.
Continuously Optimize Pipelines - Monitor performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement enhancements that reduce build times, cut false-positive security findings, and improve overall automation efficiency.
Collaborate Across Disciplines - Work closely with engineers, contractors, and customers, sharing knowledge, providing technical guidance, and ensuring alignment with program requirements and standards.

Basic Qualifications

1 + year of DevOps/automation experience (post-secondary degree or related training is a plus)
Proficient with Linux (RHEL) and Windows troubleshooting
Strong system-scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell, batch)
Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo) and using Git for version control
Practical knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and image management
Understanding of Agile/CI-CD principles and ability to work in Scrum/Kanban teams
Experience supporting DevSecOps tooling (GitLab, Nexus, secret-scanning, dependency-checking) and providing technical guidance to program personnel
Ability to design, develop, test, debug, and document software throughout the lifecycle
Familiarity with managing third-party software (COTS, GOTS, FOSS) for efficient storage and reuse

Desired skills

Advanced collaboration and communication abilities
Atlassian suite expertise (JIRA, Confluence) and administration experience
Exposure to additional Agile tools/processes (VersionOne, SAFe)
Infrastructure-as-Code proficiency (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) and virtualization experience (VMware)
Deep test-automation experience and integration of static-analysis tools (Fortify, Coverity) into pipelines
Helm-chart authoring and advanced Kubernetes orchestration knowledge
Basic networking concepts and diagnostic skills
AI/ML workflow integration and merge-request automation experience
Design and implementation of unit-test workflows
