Join Collins Aerospace as an Electrical Engineer where you will assume a key role within the Communication Products Engineering Department in Mission Systems.

In this role you will support the design and development of digital hardware used in high performance communication products that are critical to the defense of our nation, such as sophisticated software-defined radios and data links designed for use in various ground, airborne, and space applications.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:
  • Perform circuit card Design lifecycle activities including requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, signal integrity analysis, creation of board stack up and routing instructions, coordination and review of printed wiring board layout, creation of test plans, root cause analysis, and integration.
  • Design, document, verify, support, test and troubleshoot digital hardware for communication products using electrical engineering principles and techniques. Designs may include the use of FPGA, processors, and DDR memory components, and industry interfaces, such as Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Collaborate with a multi-discipline team of Engineers to develop proven hardware designs that meet system performance and operational specifications.

Qualifications you must have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Foundational understanding of electrical circuit design concepts
  • Basic knowledge of digital electronics (e.g. processors, FPGAs, CPLDs, and/or Microcontrollers, etc.), design principles and techniques
  • Experience with schematic capture of electrical circuit designs. Includes familiarity with a schematic capture tool (examples may include Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Altium, Cadence Allegro, EAGLE, KiCAD, Multisim, etc.) for creation of circuit card designs.
  • Experience with generating Printed Wiring Board (PWB) layout constraint guidelines and overseeing the routing, layout, fabrication, and assembly of the design.
  • Familiarity with Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Test Equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, etc.
