JOB SUMMARY:
Business Operational Concepts (BOC) is currently seeking a seeking a 1E Engineer to work with our federal client. The ideal candidate is a highly specialized software systems professional with deep expertise in all phases of development within cloud and hybrid environments built on Microsoft Azure. This individual has strong proficiency across Azure compute, networking, storage, monitoring, cost analysis, budgeting, disaster recovery, DevOps, and security. They operate independently under general guidance and provide advanced technical assistance on complex activities.
The ideal candidate is experienced in formulating and defining system specifications, developing, modifying, and maintaining complex systems and subsystems, and leveraging vendor engineering releases and utilities to ensure optimal operational performance. They apply strong analytical techniques to gather and interpret user requirements, define work problems, design technology solutions, and develop procedures that streamline and resolve operational challenges.
This individual excels in reviewing task proposals, analyzing data, comparing technical alternatives, preparing specifications, resolving system processing issues, and coordinating work with programmers, engineers, and cross-functional teams. They provide user orientation for new and updated systems and make informed decisions about the techniques, tools, and architectural approaches used. They also develop clear recommendations for system and process improvements for management and stakeholders.
In addition to Azure expertise, the ideal candidate brings comprehensive experience supporting mobile device management (MDM) platforms such as VMware AirWatch and Good for Enterprise. They possess strong engineering, architecture, integration, and testing skills to support full lifecycle development, operations and maintenance. They establish performance standards, create and enforce policies and security protocols, and maintain an expert-level understanding of mobile devices and MDM technologies. The ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines is essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Design, build, implement, and deploy mobility systems, software applications, and hardware as directed.
* Perform ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of mobile device management servers and applications to ensure their ongoing availability, stability, and compliance with standards and security requirements.
* Supports server hardware installation and configuration.
* Ensures security of mobile devices. Maintains device and software inventory and ensures licensing compliance.
* Provides technology-related recommendations, implementations, and upgrades.
* Documents the enterprise mobile device environment and develops related documents as needed.
* Implement, configure, and administer the 1E Platform (Tachyon) and Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) to support secure and efficient management of Windows and mobile endpoints across the Agency.
* Plan, design, and execute the deployment of the 1E Platform and Microsoft Intune, including installation, configuration, customization, and integration with existing Agency systems and tools.
* Manage mobile device enrollment
* Develop, deploy, and maintain configuration profiles, compliance policies, and security policies to support secure mobile and endpoint management.
* Integrate endpoint management solutions with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) to enable Conditional Access, Zero Trust enforcement, and identity-based security controls.
* Develop and deliver training to Agency IT staff on effective use of 1E and Microsoft Intune, ensuring knowledge transfer and operational readiness.
* Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), enrollment guides, and approved device lists to support consistent endpoint management processes.
* Monitor device health and compliance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain secure endpoint operations across all supported platforms.
* Manage and maintain mobile applications, including deployment, updates, and security configuration.
* Support endpoint security, ensuring ongoing protection against mobile threats.
* Collaborate with security, network, and service desk teams within OCIO to coordinate endpoint management, policy enforcement, and remediation activities.
* Provide continuous operations and maintenance for both 1E Tachyon and Microsoft Endpoint Manager, ensuring platform reliability, performance, and alignment with Agency security standards.
* Contribute to the overall endpoint strategy, ensuring successful implementation, integration, and long-term operation of Agency endpoint management platforms.

* Microsoft Active Directory
* Experience and knowledge with AirWatch (or similar MDM solution) implementation, policy configuration with messaging platform and exchange.
* Experience and knowledge of mobile device management, deployment, and distribution
* Good understanding of networking connectivity including firewalls, dmz and secure networks
* Good understanding of server virtualization technologies and basic configurations including network and server security
* 2+ years of 1E Tachyon implementation and administration experience
* 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager
* Experience with mobile device management (Android and iOS)
* Familiarity with Azure AD, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust security models
* M365 Endpoint Administrator (MD-102)
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent post-high school education, military and/or work-related experience
* Minimum of 5 years of IT support/Engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications Education, Certification, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
* ITIL V3 foundations certification preferred
* VMWare AirWatch Associate, Professional and Expert Accreditations preferred
